##Long a favorite in Southern cooking, Pecan Pie is now available in vodka form.  It is one of five new seasonal flavored vodkas for the fall and winter season made by Pinnacle Vodka in Frankfort Kentucky.  Starting with vodka imported from France, Pinnacle has not slowed their new product innovation since they were acquired by Beam in 2012. In the bottle the aroma is salted pecans and maple syrup with a hint of alcohol.  Poured in my glass I pick up some vanilla notes.  The entry is corn syrup sweet with a touch of vanilla, followed by pecan pastry before a medium vodka finish.  Served straight as a martini, this is a true pecan pie presentation.  Those looking for a lighter alcohol experience may be dissapointed with the limited mixing potential.
