Description :

In the 1700’s, it was called “Root Tea.” An herbal remedy made with sassafras, sarsaparilla, birch bark and other wild roots and herbs. Native Americans taught the recipe to colonial settlers. As it was passed down from generation to generation, it grew in potency and complexity. At the close of the 19th century, as the Temperance movement conspired to take the fun out of everything, a Philadelphia pharmacist removed the alcohol from Root Tea and rechristened it (ironically) “Root Beer”. Distilled from organic sugarcane, ROOT taste like a well-crafted, old-fashioned root beer that has been spiked.

This is not some cheap vodka infusion or tooth-achingly sweet liqueur.  It is an unrivaled spirit, both in quality and taste, that is made from black tea, birch bark, wintergreen, cane sugar, spearmint, lemons, allspice, oranges, anise, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom.  It’s potent, so a little float of this stuff in your next cocktail will deliver plenty of root beer flavor.  ROOT’s rich notes include some sweetness, but its not syrupy or viscous.  We highly recommend ROOT because although we absolutely love the flavor of root beer we don’t love all the sugar that comes with it.  Using ROOT in cocktails is a smart, healthy way to add the flavor you want without adding all the extra sugar.
