Type : Scotch
ABV : 80
Producer : Scapa Distillery
Country : Scotland
Size : 750ml
Description :

The Orkney Isles are the most remote of all the whisky distilleries in Scotland and home to Scapa, makers of fine single malt Scotch Whisky since 1885. It is the rugged landscape, moulded by the wild and unforgiving northern Atlantic Ocean & North Sea that give Scapa its unique character. Due to the boutique size of the distillery, in fact it's one of Scotland's smallest, all of the malts crafted at Scapa are single malts. Aged for 16 years in first fill American White Oak casks, this malt is perfectly balanced with a rich tang of ginger and sweet baked apples on the palate. Finishing smooth and velvet like, a true Orkadian Whisky.

The nose is quite thick and rich with notes of honeycomb and toffee. There are some notes of dried peels and notes of marmalade with a malty texture. The palate is full-bodied with a silken delivery. Notes of heather roots and cut grasses, honeyed oak notes with winter spices; cinnamon and cloves. There are some acacia honey notes. The finish is long and developing with notes of dry oak and a gentle, weaving smoke.
