With a long and uninterrupted history which dates back to 1758, the Berenzten company was originally founded by Johann Bernhard Berentzen in Haselünne, Lower Saxony Germany. Family owned and run for over two centuries the company has forged a reputation in the industry that is synonymous with quality.
It was in 1976 that the creative skills of brothers Friedrich and Hans came to the fore when they introduced a ingredient to their original wheat liqueur spirit, richly infusing it with the juice of orchard fresh apples. They had created the first of a new generation ultra-modern liqueurs in 'Berentzen Apfelkorn' which became an instant success. Expansion across Europe followed rapidly and in 2013 Berentzen U.S.A was established.
Created to celebrate this union Berenztzen's Bushel & Barrel sagaciously mingles Berentzen's original liqueur with America's native spirit, Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Carefully crafted and aged the result is a surprising yet is a perfectly orchestrated symphony.
Sweet, bright ripe apple liqueur uniquely compliments and balances with the spicy bourbon boldness for a pleasurable drinking experiencing that should not be missed. Tantalizing, and mouthwatering the scents are mirrored in the taste. Utterly sublime delicious flavors fill the mouth. Smooth and surprisingly well-balanced and this is followed by a smooth mid-length finish.
This masterpiece recently won the 2015 Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America Double Gold Award and is heaven to enjoy on its own as a shot, or more slowly on the rocks. However, Berentzen Bushel and Barrel can also be used to create sensational cocktails. Try it mixed with 1:2 with cranberry juice over ice and garnished with freshly sliced apple to create a Washington Apple, or if you like it more spicy mix it instead with ginger beer or ale to create a Ginger Barrel.
