El Tesoro Anejo was named Best Anejo Tequila in the 2011 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

In a string of impressive reviews, the Beverage Testing Institute in 2010 said it was "Golden yellow color. Aromas of dill pickle, black olive, cheese rind, and chocolate-coconut frosting with a satiny medium-full body and a long intricate cola, sandalwood, dried cherry, papaya and pineapple, mint gelato, and peppery spice finish."
